Food can be a major contributor to cavity and at the same time food can be a major preventer of cavity and protector of our teeth. It all depends on the choice of food. As we all know that sugar containing food and beverages are the primary contributors to cavity formation, so the first step of prevention would necessarily be to cut down on sugars- sugar containing food, such as candy, sweets, junk food (chips, cake, cookies, etc) and soda.
